City of Charlottetown, Canada (March 28, 2011) – Thirty Professional Golf Management students from Holland College will join 120 leading golf course executives at the Atlantic Golf Symposium on March 29-30, 2011 as J. J. Keegan, Managing Principal of Golf Convergence presents two seminars on Best Management Practices and How to Maximize the Investment Return of a Golf Course.
The Seminars conducted by Golf Convergence are designed to supplement its ING Outstanding Achievement Award winning book, “The Business of Golf: What Are You Thinking? How To Maximize the Financial Return of A Golf Course,” by James J. Keegan.
Keegan will present the eight-step Golf Convergence WIN™ (What’s Important Now) formula by which a golf course’s vision can become realized. Facilities that have adopted this formula have increased EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) by a minimum of 12% of gross revenue.
One of the most recognized authorities on the business of golf today, Keegan will reveal his ground-breaking methods, which are based on hard data and extensive field experience in more than 40 countries around the world. Encompassing virtually every aspect of strategic, tactical and operational practices involving golf courses, the Golf Convergence WIN™ formula sheds light on proven solutions for success, as well as common mistakes that lead to failure.
“It is a challenging business in a competitive and unique working environment with many controllable and uncontrollable factors adversely affecting the golf course’s net income,” writes Keegan, a former certified public accountant, who holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Christian University and a Masters in business from the University of Michigan.
“The positive response to the WIN™ formula has been exciting,” said James J. Keegan, managing principal of Golf Convergence. “The methodology has been highly successful. The eight-step WIN™ progression will be a valuable asset to the golf industry in Canada, as is has been elsewhere. Holland College and Paul Murnaghan, Golf Programs Coordinator, are to be congratulated for creating a forum for today’s golf course executive and students to share new educational concepts.”
