Air Travel to Bristol Now Available from New York, Boston, Chicago, Orlando via Dublin
(NEWPORT, Wales) — The Celtic Manor Resort — host of golf’s historic 2010 Ryder Cup — announces Aer Lingus and Aer Arann have teamed to offer travelers international flights between major U.S. cities and Bristol Airport (BRS) in nearby southwest England.
Only 45 minutes from Celtic Manor on the M5 motorway, Bristol Airport will service air travel from New York, Boston, Chicago and Orlando via Dublin. This provides even greater accessibility to the five-star destination voted Europe’s “Golf Resort of the Year” by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators, Wales’ Leading Hotel at the 2010 World Travel Awards and the U.K.’s best conference hotel for the fourth straight year by Conference & Incentive Travel magazine.
“The new transatlantic flights into Bristol make it easier than ever for North Americans to visit us at Celtic Manor and discover our plethora of luxurious amenities and enjoyable activities,” says Dylan Matthews, Chief Executive of Celtic Manor. “Our 1,400 wooded acres are a mere 45-minute drive away.”
Celtic Manor is also highly accessible via direct flights to London Heathrow Airport which is only two hours away by road.
In addition to reliving the thrilling 2010 Ryder Cup by playing the dramatic Twenty Ten Course, guests can enjoy two other splendid championship courses (Roman Road and The Montgomerie), six restaurants and two luxurious spas and health clubs. Last summer, Celtic Manor acquired an historic country inn — Newbridge on Usk– adding to its roster of award-winning accommodations and 400-plus rooms.
Two new attractions are slated to open in 2011. This spring, “Adventure Golf” will offer a fun putting test for the entire family comprised of two distinct nine-hole layouts — one based on a Celtic theme; the other emulating a selection of the world’s best known holes in miniature. Later this year, set in the resort’s verdant forest, “Treetop Adventure” will present an adrenalin pumping experience featuring both high and low ropes courses, bridges, walkways and challenging obstacles perfect for the young at heart, corporate outings and thrill seekers.
