Elite Distinction Jibes with Course Opening, Imminent Casino Resort Hotel Expansion Debut
(WORLEY, ID) – Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel today announces Golf Digest magazine course-rating panelists rate Circling Raven Golf Club among “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses.”
This is a biennial rating program and the second consecutive time Circling Raven has earned top 100 status from Golf Digest, out of more than 13,500 courses nationwide.
The honor comes on the heels of Director of Golf Tom Davidson being recognized by the PGA of America as its Resort Category Merchandiser of the Year in January.
Circling Raven is also ranked by GOLF Magazine among its “Top 100 Courses You Can Play” in the U.S. That, too, is a biennial ranking program.
“These honors give people unvarnished feedback about what they will experience when they play Circling Raven,” said CDA Casino Resort Hotel CEO David Lasarte-Meeks. “These critical, unbiased judgments can help ensure people choose wisely when deciding where to spend their next golf getaway.”
Circling Raven will open for the 2011 season on Friday, April 8.
“The course held up superbly over the winter and we’re eagerly anticipating this season,” said Director of Golf Davidson. “With the expansion of the resort nearly complete, these are exciting times for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and the resort destination.”
Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel Expansion Update
In addition to value-laden shoulder season rates at Circling Raven, reservations are also being accepted for the 98 new hotel rooms being added to the existing 200 as part of the expansion project. The new rooms and the fitness center are located in the two new wings, offering views of Circling Raven and the rolling Palouse grasslands and lush, natural landscape.
A “destination level” 15,000-square-foot spa will also be unveiled, as will a gourmet steakhouse serving dry-aged, prime beef. A pub called, “Yap kee num” (gathering place), will serve as a centerpiece in the new design, opening outdoors to a 10-acre front yard that will feature a natural amphitheater for concerts and other outdoor events.
“Our guests can expect something very special at CDA Casino Resort Hotel,” said CEO LaSarte-Meeks. “Years of planning have gone into unveiling our luxury enhancements, and they provide us a more diverse array of amenities and price points, something for everyone and every budget.”

About Circling Raven Golf Club and Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort & Hotel
Owned and operated by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and convenient to Spokane (WA) airport, the casino resort and golf club are nestled on a reservation covering 345,000 acres of mountains, lakes, old-growth forest and farmland.
Circling Raven is located in the Idaho panhandle, within an easy, scenic drive from eastern Washington’s Spokane Airport. It is one of the best bargains in golf, particularly during the upcoming “shoulder season” (April 8-May 12) when green fees will cost just $65 (Monday-Thursday) and $75 (Friday-Sunday).
In addition, golfers can play the Gene Bates design and receive one night accommodation at the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel for just $170 per person (Sunday through Thursday, based on double occupancy) or $199 per person on Friday and Saturday nights, through May 12. All rates include 18 holes of golf, cart, GPS, and use of the 25-acre practice facility. Additional rounds can be added for $55 on weekdays and $65 on weekends.
The resort spans the western edge of the northern Rocky Mountains. Tribal history also tells us that Circling Raven was a spiritually powerful leader, his name coming from his close relationship to the raven, who helped guide him on his journeys, warn him of danger and show him where to find fish and game.
The Coeur d’Alene Casino offers 1,800 machines for play in smoking and non-smoking areas, off-track betting for horse and dog races, high-stakes bingo, entertainment and many other amenities. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week every day of the year. The resort is regularly voted the most popular casino in the Inland Northwest.
