WILMINGTON, N.C. (March 31, 2011) – After next month’s royal wedding, PerryGolf suggests a little royal golfing. Three members of golf’s royal family – Royal Birkdale, Royal Lytham & St Annes and Royal Liverpool – highlight PerryGolf’s eight-night, four-round escorted tour of England’s “golf coast,” July 9-18. A fourth royal comes into play as the tour concludes at Royal St George’s for the final round of the 140th Open Championship.
Royal St George’s was the first course outside of Scotland to host the Open Championship (1894). Harry Vardon, Bobby Locke and Greg Norman won the Claret Jug at St George’s before Ben Curtis won the last Open Championship contested there in 2003.
Non-golfers will enjoy their time shopping and dining in the resort town of Southport, visiting the Beatles Story Exhibition in Liverpool, exploring historic Oxford and sightseeing and theatergoing in London.

Formby Golf Club, a classic links course where young Italian sensation Matteo Manassero won the Amateur Championship in 2009, rounds out the tour’s foursome.
