Learn English and receive world-class golf instruction at 2010 Ryder Cup venue
(NEWPORT, Wales) — The Celtic Manor Resort — host of golf’s 2010 Ryder Cup and premier luxury retreat less than two hours outside London — announces the creation of the English and Golf High Performance Camp.
Open to boys and girls ages 12-18, the camp will hone both language and golf skills. Focused, three-hour English lessons will take place each morning, while afternoons will be spent with staff from Celtic Manor’s state-of-the-art golf academy. After dinner, students will enjoy further access to the academy and the resort’s championship golf courses.
To participate, juniors should already possess intermediate-to-advanced golf skills; however, any level of English-language proficiency is acceptable. Upon arrival, students will be grouped depending upon language ability.
The first two-week session begins July 17 and ends July 30. A second will begin July 31 and end August 13. The 3,450 GBP fee covers 25 hours of English-language classes, 40 hours of golf instruction, 36 holes of organized golf (including an 18-hole tournament), supervised access to training facilities, gym and swimming pool, unlimited range balls, accommodations, all meals and more.
“With only 24 spots available per session, campers are assured individualized attention both in the classroom and on the course,” says Matthew Lewis, Director of Golf and Leisure at Celtic Manor. “This is an exceptional opportunity for promising golf talents from Asia, continental Europe, South America and elsewhere to spend mornings sharpening their English and afternoons working on their games under the watchful eye of our top-flight teaching professionals.”
Parents who would like to holiday at Celtic Manor (www.celtic-manor.com) while their children are enrolled in the camp can arrange for preferential rates by contacting the resort.
