LAKE MARY, FL – Veteran TV journalist Todd Lewis of The Golf Channel will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the 21st Annual ING Spring Conference May 22-26 at the beautiful Innisbrook Resort on the west coast of Florida.
Anyone in the golf industry and media is invited to attend (www.inggolf.com).
The non-profit International Network of Golf conducts this annual gathering of golf media and business leaders to exchange information, display products and develop and nurture business relationships.
Lewis will guide the conference attendees through the various elements, from seminars to guest speakers to networking events, all the while sharing the expertise he has gained from his 20-plus years as a TV broadcaster.
Lewis is in his fourth year with The Golf Channel, and is still one of the key anchors in TGC’s marquee nightly news program Golf Central. However, this year his schedule has included a heavier dose of onsite PGA and LPGA Tour coverage, including his first stint as on-course reporter at The Masters.
Lewis was an eight-year member of the on-air team at CBS affiliate WKMG in Orlando, most recently as sports director. Lewis also worked for Orlando-based Sun Sports cable television network, serving as a reporter for the Florida Gators football pre and post game shows and host for the Summertime Golf Show, a weekly 30-minute golf travel show.
The ING Conference schedule is jammed with educational, networking and product display opportunities. The highlights:
The ever-popular One-On-One Appointment Show, a series of private meetings between exhibitors and media to open lines of communication, create unique promotional programs, gather story materials and build relationships.
The Demo Lab will give all attendees the opportunity to try the latest and greatest equipment, training aids and putters from manufacturers large and small.
The new Golf Media Expo will be part of a revamped Sunday Night at the ING Spring Conference. Magazines, media websites and TV and radio shows that register for the conference will receive complimentary tabletop display space to show their materials, samples and more. Display space is limited.
The conference also includes a revised educational format, featuring ActionCOACH as the workshop facilitator. There will also be tremendous networking opportunities, product displays and tests, and lots of golf, including the International Pairs World Qualifier, from which the winning two-player team will earn a free trip to Scotland to represent the USA in the IP World Finals.
Other highlights: a concert by rock star Jimi Jamison, and a keynote speech by national media figure Michelle Phillips.
Innisbrook Resort is hosting the conference, marking only the second time that the ING Spring Conference has been held in Florida. Innisbrook is also host to the PGA Tour’s Transitions Championship every March.
