BALTIMORE, MD. – April 5, 2011 – STX Golf, world-renowned as an industry pioneer in putter innovation, and for its patented Soft Face Insert Technology, announced today that the company began shipping its spring orders and new Sync Series putters into retail.
Earlier this year at the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show, STX Golf introduced an entirely new line of the Sync Series putters. Each of the five new models represents STX and its philosophy of putter design. They combine artistry and innovation with state of the art technology.
The original Sync Tour Pro Putter has a long legacy on the PGA Tour. It has been credited with many victories including the 2002 PGA Championship. The new STX Sync Series 1 or SS1 Putter acknowledges its predecessor’s significance but expands on it with added alignment aids and a more forgiving design.
The signature bullet back design puts optimal weight directly behind the sweet spot which is proven to keep any stroke on line and provide unprecedented balance and feel. This distinctive feature is complemented with a step-less center shaft for precise positioning at address.
According to STX Director of Golf Steve Henneman, “The new Sync Series will be available at most major golf specialty stores as well as at a select amount of green grass stores by the middle of April. For those golfers interested in trying or demonstrating a Sync Series Putter, visit the company website where you can find a list of demo days in your area.”
The new STX SS2 Putter resembles the original Sync Tour Mallet but what differentiates it from the original is its uniquely designed heel-toe element that increases the M.O.I. The modern mallet head size is considerably smaller than the competition, but the combination of design and weight placement offers superior M.O.I. ratings. A standard feature in the Sync Series is the step-less center shaft. On the STX SS2 Putter, it is positioned directly behind the face for precision putting.
“The new STX Sync Series not only includes contemporary mallets but also three blade inspired putters; the SS3, SS4 and SS5 Putters. Golfers who prefer a more traditional putter with uncanny accuracy will want one of these,” added Henneman.
The STX SS3 Putter is a contemporary blade putter that gracefully blends alignment aids with soft curves. The toe down design is heel shafted with a step-less shaft and has been getting rave reviews on the tour.
For the golfer who prefers a more traditional blade, the STX SS4 Putter will inspire their putting. It is visually appealing, particularly at address. To keep the hands forward during the entire putting stroke, the STX SS4 features heel-toe weighting with a full offset – plumbers neck hosel.
A half offset, flare neck hosel seamlessly connects the SS5 head to the shaft and makes the SS5 a true standout. This traditionally styled and inspired blade has been designed to keep your hands forward during the stroke and is toe weighted to benefit golfers with an arcing stroke.
“What differentiates all of STX putters from any other putter on the market is the Soft Insert Technology. Its feel and control is incomparable,” adds Henneman.
Each model in the Sync Series features Soft Insert Technology called “F.E.E.L.” – Friction Enhancing Elastomer Layer. This patented STX technology dramatically increases the coefficient of friction to put a greater amount of topspin on the ball and keep your putts on line. The Soft Face Insert Keeps the ball in contact with the putter longer to provide superior directional control, decreased ball skid and reduced ball deformation.
The black insert is the softest in the STX line. It delivers the highest friction and resilience rate with increased dwell time. Those characteristics are chemically formulated to get the ball rolling sooner and keep your putts on line.
For a medium resiliency rate, the red insert offers an intermediate amount of dwell time for true control. For golfers who prefer a firmer feel, the green insert provides a harder feel with less resilience.
Sync Series putters are available in both 34″ and 35″ in length. All are equipped with step-less shafts, Golf Pride grips, and an exclusive STX head-cover. The loft specification is 3 degrees and the lie specification is 71 degrees. A distinctive black PVD finish adds to the beauty of these stylish putters.
About STX
STX is acknowledged as being the golf industry’s foremost authority on insert face technology. Over a quarter century ago, the company introduced the first patented soft face elastomer insert, creating the “softest legal face in golf.” Following this advancement, the company introduced the first USGA approved interchangeable face insert and removable weight system. Both these and other innovations have helped create the standards for putter design today.
