The revolutionary new TEFLON® coated TEF TEE from Tee Direct Inc. not only boosts the driving performance of golfers but it can help substantially reduce golf course operating costs.
Tee Direct Inc. analyzed the tee breakage of the twelve largest producers of wood and bamboo golf tees, with some startling results. 5 of the 12 factories had breakage rates in excess of 40%, which for a high volume course could result in almost a quarter of a million broken tees to clean-up. The average breakage rate of all 12 factories was 39%.
“Buying the lowest priced tees in these tough economic times isn’t necessarily the best strategy to reduce course tee expenditures,” said Greg MacKeen, President of Tee Direct Inc.
Consider a course doing 40,000 rounds a year, with a purchasing strategy to “buy the lowest cost tees” at just $129 per case. With a breakage equal to the 39% factory average, the yearly consumption would 16 cases or $2064.
Take the same course, but assume the strategy was to “buy a premium quality tee” such as SUPERTEE™, which proved to be the most durable wood tee with just a 9% breakage. Annual tee consumption would then be around 10 cases, which based on a $159 cost per case cost means total yearly tee expenses would be $1590. The cost reduction strategy actually ends up costing 23% more than the buy quality strategy.
Taking the scenario even a step further, if this course sold TEF TEE performance golf tees to just 25% of their guests, the annual tee costs could be reduced to $800, net of the retail sales. That’s a 61% reduction in tee expenses.
And because TEF TEE has a breakage rate of just 1%, when used in combination with SUPERTEE™ premium wood tees, tee litter can be reduced from 218,000 broken tees to under 40,000.
