Affordable, retro knit stocking styles crafted from recycled plastic bottles

(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) – AB Golf Designs – the market leader for attention-grabbing specialty head covers and accessories – announces that it is celebrating Earth Day 2011 by offering free shipping with the purchase of a three- or four-piece set from its eco-friendly Throwback collection.
Now available in a wide array of colors and styles – including a patriotic American Flag edition – these classic striped knit stockings with pom-pom tops look and feel like wool yet are crafted from polyester fibers made from recycled plastic bottles. This manufacturing process helps diminish dependence on oil and minimize waste, in turn limiting toxic emissions from incinerators and reducing air, water and soil contamination.
“The retro look, classic feel and eco-friendly construction has made the Throwback line a huge hit with PGA and LPGA Tour players, as well as regular golfers throughout the U.S.,” says co-owner Chip Burley. “With Earth Day coming up on April 22, we wanted to make it easier and more affordable than ever for people to get their hands on these products.”
Offered for woods, hybrids and putters, a Throwback set is $75 for three pieces and $90 for four head covers. The items are also available individually for $22-$28.
“We’re the only company in the head cover space that has embraced these new environmentally friendly manufacturing options and are very proud of the results,” adds co-owner D.J. Langer.
In addition to the Throwback models, AB Golf Designs is well established as the top provider of custom head covers for leading corporations nationwide. Recent designs include a rock hopper penguin for Allianz Insurance, a gecko for Geico Insurance, a bottoms-up peacock for NBC, a “blizzard” for Dairy Queen, and a French fry box for McDonalds. The company has also produced a “Sparky” mascot for Arizona State University and Sooner mascot for the University of Oklahoma.
Used in competition by scores of leading professionals, including LPGA Tour stars Christina Kim, Yani Tseng and Maria Hjorth, AB Golf Designs’ products are available at better golf retailers throughout North America, online at the company website, via amazon.com and through distributor agreements in the U.K., EU and Asia-Pacific regions.
