BAY HARBOR, MI – The Inn at Bay Harbor – A Renaissance Golf Resort continues to earn prestigious acclaim as readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine have selected it as one of the world’s Top 125 Golf Resorts.
The coveted ranking in the magazine’s fifteenth annual readers’ golf poll of the
world’s best places to play was announced in the publication’s April issue.
The Inn at Bay Harbor, teamed with the nearby 27-hole Bay Harbor Golf Club, is listed in the category of the Top 10 Northern U.S. Golf Resorts. In that grouping are such illustrious properties as Stowe Mountain Lodge in Vermont, The American Club in Wisconsin, the historic West Baden Springs Hotel in Indiana, and the Grand View Lodge in Minnesota.
Last year, The Inn at Bay Harbor was the only resort in Michigan to capture a Gold Medal in Golf magazine’s annual Premier Resorts awards. That honor was based on votes by 8,000 readers.
Voters for the Condé Nast’s Top 125 Golf Resorts singled out properties that combine “outstanding golf with fantastic lodging, dining and service,” the magazine said.
The distinguished ambiance of the Victorian-themed inn on the shore of Little Traverse Bay and the national award-winning 27-hole Bay Harbor Golf Club was
a winning combination for voters.
The graceful white-washed inn with its distinctive red roof is an architectural gem on Little Traverse Bay, and a familiar landmark on the longest freshwater shoreline in the country.
The three nine-hole courses, The Links, The Quarry and The Preserve, were designed by Arthur Hills and are among the country’s most diverse collections of golf holes on one property.
The Links nine plays high above Little Traverse Bay with views extending more
than 20 miles across the water to Harbor Springs and beyond to Lake Michigan. The Quarry nine is cut through rugged rock walls and sand dunes on the site of a former cement operation, while The Preserve is nine holes of northern Michigan wooded solitude.
The Inn at Bay Harbor opened in 1998. The lakeside location conjures up the flair and romance and of the great turn-of-the-century northern Michigan inns.
Guests can choose from 85 one, two, and three-bedroom suites with a variety of spacious floor plans, some with spectacular views of Lake Michigan. In addition to championship golf, The Inn at Bay Harbor provides exceptional dining and meeting venues. The Inn also offers an alluring full-service spa, boutique shopping and a variety of activity options such as boating and biking.
Lodging rates start at $146 per night. For more information on The Inn at Bay Harbor – A Renaissance Golf Resort, call 231-439-4000 or visit www.innatbayharbor.com.
