Recognizes 20 year relationship at EWGA Conference awards dinner
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., April 19, 2011 – The EWGA has presented The PGA of America with its inaugural Spirit of Partnership Award in recognition of “twenty years of support of the Executive Women’s Golf Association and its efforts to grow the game of golf for women.”
The plaque was bestowed at the 20th Anniversary Red Carpet Gala Awards Dinner during the 2011 EWGA Golfpalooza (previously known as the association’s annual conference) at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort in Amelia Island, Fla. The presentation was made by EWGA CEO, Pam Swensen to Joe Steranka, CEO and Allen Wronowski, president of The PGA of America.
“You know something is great when it fits like a glove – and that is our relationship, working together for our collective interests in growing the game of golf,” said Swensen. “The PGA of America is the longest partner of the EWGA and instrumental in our 20-year history. It is so fitting to salute and thank The PGA of America and its 27,000 dedicated men and women professionals during this 20th Anniversary celebration.”
During the 2011 EWGA Golfpalooza, over 400 women from throughout the United States and Canada converged in the Jacksonville area for four days of networking, keynote presentations, golf, clinics, parties and fun. Others honored at the conference include LPGA and World Golf Hall of Fame member Judy Rankin as recipient of the EWGA Leadership Award; and Lawren Just, owner of the Persimmon Ridge Golf Course near Louisville, Kentucky as the 2010 EWGA Businesswoman of the Year.
