(Londonderry, New Hampshire) – Danish brand ECCO – maker of the world’s most comfortable, stylish and technically-advanced footwear – confirms a two-year extension of its supporting partnership of the PGA of America Golf Retirement Plus program.
The continuation of this relationship, which began in 2009, is the latest in a series of account and customer service initiatives ECCO has undertaken. These include a sophisticated, web-based retailer training module, the industry-leading ECCO Golf Comfort Tech Van and the brand’s status as an official member of the Association of Golf Merchandisers.
“ECCO continues to revolutionize the golf footwear industry worldwide with unique product innovations,” said PGA President Allen Wronowski. “The PGA of America is delighted that ECCO is extending its supporting partnership of Golf Retirement Plus, as PGA Professionals are key drivers in promoting golf shoe sales at clubs nationwide.”
Founded in 1997, Golf Retirement Plus is a supplemental retirement program for PGA Professionals and apprentices, GCSAA Superintendents, and CMAA Club Managers, which allows them to make their own contributions or have their employers contribute to their Golf Retirement Plus account on their behalf. PGA Professionals may also earn personal incentives by participating in the Golf Retirement Plus Partner Programs.
“The ECCO philosophy is to produce the world’s best shoes and it’s tremendously fulfilling when the golf community tells us we are on the right track,” says Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at ECCO. “This distinction continues the worldwide momentum for our brand, which is winning time after time on Tour, at retail, in the press and with consumers.”
ECCO golf shoes are worn in competition by scores of international Tour stars, including Fred Couples, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, Aaron Baddeley, Stuart Appleby, Thongchai Jaidee, Belen Mozo, Gerina Piller and Jennifer Johnson.
