COLUMBUS, Ohio (April 25, 2011) – Boxgroove (www.boxgroove.com), an inventive, reliable online network offering golfers the opportunity to play private golf courses of their choosing, has added Segregansett Country Club in Taunton, Mass. to the portfolio of private-club venues that Boxgroove members can play.
“It is with pleasure that we welcome Segregansett Country Club to Boxgroove,” said McRedmond Morelli, founder and CEO of Boxgroove. “The wonderful history of the club and the beauty of the course will be of great appeal to Boxgroove members.”
About Segregansett Country Club
Established in 1893, Segregansett Country Club has been listed by the U.S. Golf Association as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. The private 18-hole par-72 Segregansett course, with a slope rating of 127, plays 6,632 yards from the longest tees. The course rating is 72.0. The greens and fairways feature Bent grass, and there are three sets of tees to accommodate various skill levels. Water hazards, which come into play from the Segregansett River, and undulating greens comprise some of the challenges to players. Geoffrey Cornish and William G. Robinson designed the back nine, which opened in 1976.
“We are quite excited to become part of the Boxgroove golf community,” said Peter Larkin, membership chairman at Segregansett CC. “Since our inception, Segregansett Country Club has been one of the premier clubs in the area, and we are proud to make our beautiful course and facilities available to other Boxgroove golfing members. In addition, our current membership will be excited to play the great private golf courses in the Boxgroove program.”
