ORLANDO, FL (April 26, 2011) – FlightScope has introduced and shipped its first X1 golf tracking radar. The X1 will be FlightScope’s entry-level launch monitor and features the company’s 3D Doppler tracking technology. The new launch monitor will track the entire trajectory of the ball and publish the speed, spin, spin axis, all launch angles including the tracked vertical descent angle and the distance to the ball landing. Club data that will be measured in 3D includes the swing angles, speed and geometry of the sweet spot at impact.
The X1 will also show the speed profile and rate of acceleration of the downswing pre and post impact allowing users to gauge their club speed efficiency and shaft reaction to their downswing.
The X1 will have comparable performance and accuracy to the X2, but needs to be connected to an external power source and have its data transferred to a PC via a USB cable. It will be recalled that the X2 is battery powered and uses no wires to transmit its data.
