CARLSBAD, Calif. (April 21, 2011) – For men who think their only golf fashion option is pairing khaki pants with a polo and that golf lifestyle stops at the locker room, Ashworth’s new apparel and footwear stylist is set to spread wardrobe sense to the masses while ensuring that the course never leaves them.
Mahjuba Levine, a San Diego-based style expert, joins the Ashworth brand as its resident golfer style consultant. She’ll be tasked with providing insight and advice to golfers on how to look and feel their best both on and off the course. Using Ashworth’s signature laid-back style and timeless pieces, Mahjuba will provide style tips on Ashworth’s website, Facebook and Twitter pages. She will also assist the Ashworth team in scripting the wardrobes for Ashworth athletes Fred Couples, Sean O’Hair and Ryan Palmer.
“With so many guys passionate about the game, they’re bringing a different type of hip and experimental fashion into the game. And this is fashion that touches every piece of their clothing.,” Mahjuba says. “Along with that, you can tell someone what to wear, but he needs to understand why also, which I look forward to helping.”
Mahjuba’s career in San Diego fashion began behind a camera lens, and has since developed into personal client and print style consulting. In 2002 she launched Closet Therapy, now a San Diego signature program that helps men and women build their confidence through creating a wardrobe that is essential to their everyday lives. In 2007, Mahjuba founded The Collective, a meet-and-mingle fashion event network that raises money for charity.
“I’m really excited to be working with a brand that has so much history and that people love,” Mahjuba says. “I see the Ashworth brand in a lot of my clients’ closets, and my husband wears it also. I am thrilled to provide Ashworth men with style secrets and tips for their everyday lifestyle, while using my fashion experiences to help on a wider scale.”
In addition to being a special guest stylist on NBC and FOX News, as well as on the Soap Network, Mahjuba has styled for fashion shoots in Vogue, Riviera Magazine, San Diego Magazine, Ranch and Coast Magazine and The San Diego Union-Tribune, among other publications.
“Ashworth has an unparalleled heritage of providing comfortable, stylish and classic apparel to golfers, and we’re happy to have Mahjuba help golfers bring out their best style through our brand,” says Harry Arnett, VP and General Manager of Ashworth Golf. “We look forward to continuing to be seen as not only setting the fashion style for the game, but providing a resource to golfers everywhere.”
Levine’s style tips kicked off online April 13 on www.ashworthgolf.com and www.facebook.com/AshworthGolf.
