Bay area’s only thirty-six hole, oceanfront golf resort offers individual, group instruction
(HALF MOON BAY, Calif.) – Half Moon Bay Golf Links today launches the 2011 “Academy of Golf,” including one-day short game programs starting at $399 and two-day playing schools for $700.
To provide higher quality instruction in the Bay Area at a tremendous value, Half Moon Bay Golf Links has developed a learning facility with multiple teaching stations to accommodate groups of up to 20 golfers of all abilities.
Beginning June 4, one-day short game schools will be offered on the weekends through late August with six dates to choose from. Two-day playing schools begin July 2nd and will be held every other week through late October for a total of nine different sessions. Short-game, bunker-play, full-swing and on-course playing lessons are included in the multi-day curriculum.
“The Academy of Golf further establishes Half Moon Bay Golf Links as one of the premier golf facilities in the state,” says Bill Troyanoski, general manager of Half Moon Bay Golf Links. “Our talented staff of PGA-certified professionals offers the finest instruction in Northern California and we are confident they can help improve your game.”
The Half Moon Bay Golf Links Academy of Golf is directed by Mitchell Lowe, former Canadian PGA TOUR player and three-time Northern California PGA Player of the Year. Lowe serves as Director of Instruction and has a 16-year track record as an award-winning golf instructor and private coach for PGA TOUR, Nationwide TOUR, and Canadian PGA TOUR golfers. He is firmly entrenched in the Northern California golf industry, having worked at TPC Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco, Del Rio Country Club in Modesto and Lockeford Springs Golf Course in Lodi.
In addition to short game and two-day playing schools, Half Moon Bay Golf Links will also host corporate clinics, two junior multiple-day golf camps and private lessons.

About Half Moon Bay Golf Links
Set against the dramatic cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Half Moon Bay Golf Links is located just minutes from San Francisco and San Jose, and only 20 miles from San Francisco International Airport. The golf resort features 36 holes of championship golf; a clubhouse with a full-service pro shop offering the latest equipment and fashionable apparel; and the popular ocean-view restaurant, Mullins Bar & Grill, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in a casual fireside dining setting.
For nearly 40 years, avid golfers have been returning to this incomparable setting, enjoying the variety of play offered by two award-winning courses: Arnold Palmer’s classic American parkland-styled The Old Course and the Scottish-links-styled Ocean Course designed by Arthur Hills.
The Old Course presents a series of strategically-demanding holes linked through the property’s tree-lined interior. The famous, par-4 18th emerges along the Pacific Ocean, boasting one of the most stunning tee-to-green views in the U.S. It plays up to The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay’s oceanfront courtyard and fire pit.
The Ocean Course provides a true links golf experience: the salt air of the Pacific a constant as it is transported via the constant breeze from the Ocean just yards away. Fairways are separated by coastal mounding and native grasses, and open green fronts and creatively designed green surrounds support a variety of different playing options.
The Ocean Course hosted the 2008 LPGA Samsung World Championship, featuring the world’s best women golfers and won by Paula Creamer. Half Moon Bay Golf Links is also a regular site for U.S. Open Men’s and Women’s qualifiers, including 2010.
The golf courses are managed by Kenmark Golf Management. For more information about Kenmark, please visit www.kenmark.com. For more information about Half Moon Bay Golf Links, visit www.halfmoonbaygolf.com.
