One of Golf Digest Magazine’s Best Young Teachers excited about launching his new golf school at one of northern Michigan’s top resort destinations
Gaylord, MI – Jason Guss, a rising star among the country’s young PGA golf instructors and the 2011 Northern Michigan PGA Teacher of the Year, is excited to announce the opening of his new golf academy at Otsego Club & Resort this week.
“This opportunity to take my professional teaching knowledge and swing philosophies and start my own golf academy with Osprey Recreation and Otsego Club is very exciting”, said Guss. “We have already had a wonderful response with my existing students, as well as new students signing up everyday for programs. The Otsego Club is a world-class resort destination and I am looking forward to providing a world-class golf academy experience for guests and members.”
Guss, 34, who is launching the new golf academy at Otsego Club after eleven years working with Rick Smith, one of the games top instructors, has developed an elite golf academy, which includes the new Golf Academy Lodge together with a variety of game improvement opportunities for golfers.
The new Golf Academy Lodge, which is adjacent to the practice facility, is the perfect facility for someone to experience a top golf academy. The lodge features a warm atmosphere with a spacious indoor hitting bay with computer analysis, indoor putting and chipping areas, comfortable leather furniture, flat-screen televisions, locker room, and a student teacher area to analyze and review the golf swing on the big screen. Whether your working on your game indoors, relaxing between sessions, waiting for your son or daughter, the Golf Academy Lodge is the perfect environment for learning the game of golf.
“The new Golf Academy Lodge is the perfect compliment for any golf academy. I am envisioning an environment where junior golfers, as well as hard-core golfers will want to hangout and just work on their game, watch golf on the television, or just relax while attending a golf school,” said Guss. “It also provides a strong teaching area and place to hang out in case we ever get poor weather.”
The new academy will also include one, two, and three-day sessions, on-course instruction, as well as individual lessons for beginners to elite players. There will also be programs for junior players with special instruction for those with ambitions to play collegiate golf. A program tailored for women will also be a feature of the new academy.
Guss has also earned national honors from one of the most influential publications in the game. Golf Digest magazine listed Guss among its Best Young Teachers in 2010. Guss was also twice selected by Golf Digest as one of the top 20 teachers in America under the age of 40 — the only teacher in Michigan to earn that prestigious recognition.
