NORTHBROOK, Ill. May 2, 2011 – Duininck Companies, LLC. has announced it has selected Northbrook, Ill.-based KemperSports to manage the Stonebridge Golf Club of New Orleans. Based in Prinsburg, Minn., Duininck Companies, LLC. is a diversified company ranging in industries from construction and manufacturing to real estate development and distribution.
The 27-hole golf course, which opened in 1984 and was renovated by John Robinson in 2004, is located in an upscale residential community in Gretna, La., just minutes from downtown New Orleans.
“KemperSports is an industry leader in customer service, hospitality and the marketing of golf properties,” said Dave Munkvold, Vice President of Golf Operations at Duininck Inc. “We’re excited to have them take Stonebridge to the next level.”
Stonebridge Golf Club of New Orleans is comprised of an 18-hole, par-72 championship course, measuring 7,031 yards from the back tees, and a nine-hole, par-35 course, measuring 3,047 yards from the back tees. The course presents a challenging test with 28 water hazards and over 100 bunkers. Limited forced carries along with six tee placements for the championship course and five tee placements for the nine-hole course allow Stonebridge to accommodate every type of player.
“Stonebridge Golf Club of New Orleans is a property with a lot of potential,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We look forward to instituting many of our programs designed to improve the golf experience.”
Affected by wind storms and debris during Hurricane Katrina, Stonebridge recovered from the natural disaster that permanently damaged many nearby golf courses. Coupled with John Robinson’s renovation in 2004, the course has maintained its reputation as one of the most sought-after public golf courses in the New Orleans area.
In addition to the 27 holes of golf, Stonebridge features a recently renovated clubhouse with a full-service pro shop, banquet hosting abilities and a lounge.
