North Stonington, Conn., May 18, 2011 – Lake of Isles’ North and South Courses were ranked among the top courses by Golf Digest in its Best In State Rankings. The Rees Jones designed South Course was ranked No. 3 and the North Course was No. 7.
“Connecticut is known for outstanding public and private courses,” stated Archie Cart, Lake of Isles general manager. “We are fortunate enough to have both our private and public course ranked regionally and also nationally. We take great pride in providing our members and guests with the ultimate experience from pristine course conditions to five-star service. The Mashantucket Pequot Nation’s commitment to quality has paved the way for the growth we continue to experience today at Lake of Isles.”
Golf Digest’s Best In State rankings appear in the magazine’s May issue. The rankings are based on Golf Digest panel of raters that evaluates courses on shot value, resistance to scoring, design variety, memorability, aesthetics, conditioning and ambience.
The North Course is open to guests of Foxwoods Resort Casino and daily-fee golfers. It is a par-72 that stretches over 7,300 yards from the championship tees. The course features rolling fairways, island tees and greens and extraordinary views, which blend nicely with the incredible natural landscape. Green fees range from $169 – $199, June through October, and include a cart, range balls, yardage card and bottle water.
The exclusive South Course is private to members and accompanied guests. It also is a par-72 and reaches over 7300 from the championship tees.
