The Team Of McEntee And Dolby Capture 2011 NCPGA Senior-Junior Championship

PALO ALTO, Calif. — The Northern California Section of the PGA is pleased to announce that the team of PGA Head Golf Professional Shawn McEntee of Marin Country Club (Novato, CA) and PGA Apprentice Joe Dolby of Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club (Palo Alto, CA) claimed title to the 2011 NCPGA Senior-Junior Championship with a score of 125. This one-day tournament was contested at Dolby’s home course, Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club (Par 71). This tournament is two-pro team event. In the morning, they play a four-ball stroke play and in afternoon it is a two-pro scramble. This championship was made possible through the generous sponsorship of E-Z-GO Textron and supported by Cutter & Buck and SunSport Optics.

Shawn McEntee, Head Golf Professional at Marin Country Club, was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, and moved to the Bay Area in 1968. After attending California University Stanislaus, Shawn took his playing skills on the road in 1980 to the various Professional Tours across the country. He played in over 30 plus PGA tour events, including the 1989 and 1991 PGA Championship, the 1992 US Open at Pebble Beach, and was a 7-time participant in the AT&T Pro Am. After playing tours, Shawn moved to the teaching aspect of the game, spending 14 years at historic Pasatiempo Golf Club and other clubs including Coyote Creek Golf Club, LaQuinta Hotel & Spa, Monterey Peninsula CC, and the Villages Golf & Country Club. Shawn has been a Class A Member of the PGA of America for 24 years, a past chairman of the NCPGA tournament committee, and is currently a committee member of the Senior and Junior Tournament board.

In 2010, Joe Dolby captured the NCPGA Assistant Player of the Year award, finishing the Assistant Apprentice tournament season with a total of 827 points. He is currently in the number one position for 2011, placing in the top three in four out of five qualifying tournaments.
