Crazy color-changing tops becoming summer’s hottest cool-kid trend
(TORONTO) – Quagmire – the Toronto-based apparel brand founded by two buddies with a passion for golf, surf, skate and street culture – is psyched to announce that its totally unique ColorFusion boys polos are now available at select Golf Galaxy locations nationwide, and online at www.golfgalaxy.com.
Already proclaimed one of summer’s hottest trends, the unique tops shift colors when the temp hits 20° Celsius (that’s 68° Fahrenheit for Quagmire’s friends in the USA). The polos for ages 4-to-14 come in sizes XS-XXL with transformations from purple to pink, blue to white, green to yellow and orange to yellow.
“It’s like a super-functional shirt that’s almost a toy, and we’re totally amped to bring this crazy fabric technology to the masses,” says co-founder Geoff Tait. “The color-changing process absolutely blows the minds of 21st century kids just like Hypercolor did for me back in the day.”
ColorFusion was developed based on extensive field research conducted by Tait and Quagmire co-founder Bobby Pasternak. That basically consisted of showing prototypes to the hippest six-year-old they’d ever met. When he deemed it “totally nutz,” the guys knew they were on to something big.
“We’ve seen amazing early-season sell-through of ColorFusion kids pieces at the Puerto Rico Open and Shell Houston Open,” says Pasternak. “Parents and kids all love it, and Golf Galaxy is the perfect partner to bring it to millions of young players throughout the U.S.”
An important maintenance note for moms and dads – ColorFusion shirts are built to last. Wash and dry just like the rest of your kid’s gear – the best part is taking them out of the dryer and watching the colors change back.
Quagmire is worn by a bevy of star athletes and A-listers worldwide who embody the brand’s “Not Fit for the Fairway” motto. These include celebrity participants in the PGA Tour’s Bob Hope Classic Pro-Am, as well as Tour stars Tag Ridings, Joe Affrunti, Aron Price, Brennan Webb, Rich Barcelo, Karen Stupples, Gerina Piller, Stephanie Louden and Diana D’Alessio. The company also serves as official apparel supplier to the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy and the International Junior Golf Tour.
