SAN DIEGO, CA – June 7, 2011 – Graphite Design, maker of some of the most widely played premium golf shafts on the PGA TOUR, announced the following Tour results: the winner along with the next four finishers of the ShopRite LPGA Classic played Graphite Design Tour AD shafts; the winner of the LPGA Futures Tour Ladies Titan Tire Challenge played a Graphite Design YS+ shaft in her driver; and the T2 finisher at The Memorial played Tour AD DI shafts in his driver, three-wood and hybrid.

“This was an exciting week for Graphite Design with two winners and so many top finishers on the LPGA and PGA Tours playing our shafts,” said Tak Yamada, VP of Sales & Marketing, Graphite Design. “Week after week, our shafts continue to perform on all Tours which is a direct result of the outstanding technology and performance characteristics that go into the design of all Graphite Design shafts. We congratulate the winners and top finishers who played our shafts this past week.”

The winner of the ShopRite LPGA Classic shot 5-under-par 66 on Sunday for a total 11-under 202 to record her fourth-career LPGA victory. She played a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 6 shaft in her driver. The winner of the LPGA Futures Tour Ladies Titan Tire Challenge shot a 1-under 215 to post her first professional win wire-to-wire. She played a Graphite Design YS+ 6 shaft in her driver.

In 2011 Graphite Design Tour AD shafts have been used by the winners of four PGA Tour events, three LPGA Tour events, three Nationwide Tour events, one Champions Tour event and one LPGA Futures Tour event. The champions have used a variety of Graphite Design shafts including the company’s new Tour AD DI, DI Hybrid and DJ shafts. The company’s newly introduced G series shaft is now also being played by professionals on all Tours.

The new G series shaft is the next generation of premium Graphite Design shafts and is very adaptable to today’s new head technology. As with all Graphite Design shafts, the G series shaft technology is derived from years of research and development designed to produce consistency and stability and deliver outstanding performance benefits.

The G series performance characteristics favor a low to mid launch trajectory and mid ball spin. The new X Directional Technology – XDT – incorporates the use of the already proven Graphite Design MSI (Material Stiffness Integration) design method as well as this new and unique application of graphite fiber alignment throughout the shaft structure. During the development phase of XDT, measurable performance gains were discovered through a more balanced distribution of the graphite fibers within the plies of the shaft design. This proprietary application of XDT has made the new G series the most balanced, versatile high performance golf shaft available today.

The company’s Tour AD logo is featured on all of Graphite Design’s Tour-proven shafts to specifically promote “Accuracy and Distance” and has long been known for high quality and superior performance. This is represented by the company’s success that has been documented by professionals and amateurs alike. Graphite Design is the most dominant shaft on the JGTO Tour and has been for the past eight years.

Graphite Design International manufactures the highest quality shafts in the world for Pure Distance and Perfect Accuracy. Graphite Design shafts can be seen in play by the best professional players on the PGA, Nationwide, Champions, Japan, European and LPGA tours. Graphite Design shafts reinforced its dominance on the Japan Tour, where it has claimed 163 consecutive graphite wood shaft brand counts — an unprecedented streak which dates to 2003. On the PGA Tour, Graphite Design shafts have helped professionals earn 76 victories since 2004 and millions of dollars in prize money. A total of 60 US distributors and 16 European and Asian distributors supply Graphite Design shafts to custom club fitters around the world.
