(FORT WORTH, TX) – UST Mamiya – maker of the world’s finest carbon fiber golf shafts – reports the winners of both the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament and Nationwide Tour’s Melwood Prince George’s County Open relied on its renowned shafts.
The win at the Memorial Tournament represents the fourth PGA Tour victory for UST Mamiya in 2011. This week, the champion played Proforce V2 shafts in his driver (86 gram, x-flex), 3-wood (96 gram, x-flex) and hybrid (104 gram, x-flex) at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, OH. He finished tied for third in driving accuracy and jumped to fourth in the Official Golf World Ranking.
Utilizing the company’s new Proforce VTS shafts in his three wood (87 gram, x-flex), 18-degree hybrid (85 gram, x-flex) and 20-degree hybrid (100 gram, x-flex) the winner of the Melwood Prince George’s County Open recorded a 12-stroke victory, the largest margin in Nationwide Tour history. The Proforce VTS shafts will be widely available to consumers later this year and will feature a unique “torque fitting” concept exclusive to UST Mamiya.
