(HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.) – Junior Golf Corporation (JGC) – owner and operator of the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy, International Junior Golf Tour and Ivan Lendl International Junior Tennis Academy – has appointed Buffalo Communications as its public-relations agency.
Buffalo’s publicity and media-relations program will stimulate local, regional, national and international editorial coverage. This will drive awareness about junior golf and tennis training, competition and acclaimed academics at JGC’s elite facilities on Hilton Head Island.
“Buffalo Communications will showcase our exceptional athletic and academic programs,” says Peter Orrell, President and CEO of JGC. “With students from 31 countries, our brand will be cemented as the epicenter of golf and tennis for serious junior players.”
“Students and parents rave about the athletic and life skills learned at the academies,” says Rich Katz, Managing Director of Buffalo. “They are propelled to reach their full potential and perhaps the next Masters or Wimbledon winner is currently enrolled.”
For 16 years, students at Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy receive daily instruction in full-swing, short-game, course-management, mental preparation, and strength and conditioning. Winners on the PGA and LPGA Tour as well as Ryder Cup players have competed in International Junior Golf Tour events.
As a full-time boarding school for student-athletes grades five through 12 at Heritage Academy, up to 94 percent of graduating classes have received college scholarships.
JGC recently partnered with the legendary Ivan Lendl to create the Ivan Lendl International Junior Tennis Academy. The full-time, intensive tennis training, competition and academic program – anchored by Lendl as Director of Instruction – is for serious players aspiring to reach top amateur status or the professional ranks.
Ivan Lendl International Junior Tennis Academy focuses on classic fundamentals, leading-edge biomechanics, strength training, fitness and mental toughness. In addition to perfecting strokes, footwork and essential mechanics, Lendl’s approach instills dedication, focus, hard work, attitude, motivation and overall preparation.
As an elite professional player, Lendl’s resume includes holding the world’s No. 1 ranking for 270 consecutive weeks, eight Grand Slam singles titles, a Davis Cup championship for Czechoslovakia and appearing in a modern day record eight straight U.S. Open finals. For those achievements, he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2001.
