Family Golf Challenge Heads to Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Connecticut with Weekend Event June 25-26

Media Campaign to Support Event

New York, NY – June 14, 2011 – Connecticut will become the third state in the metropolitan region to host a leg of The Family Golf Challenge when Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Fairfield, CT plays host to the new skills challenge during the weekend of June 25-26. The event is scheduled from 10AM – 6PM on Saturday, June 25 and 11AM – 4PM on Sunday, June 26. The First Tee at Fairchild Wheeler will be the event beneficiary and receive $5.00 of each $15.00 team registration-fee.

The new skills challenge for families will receive strong advance promotion in the Connecticut region with an ad campaign slated to begin running June 16 in the Connecticut Post and a marketing campaign with Radio Disney AM1560, one of the most popular radio destinations for kids and family in the metropolitan region. Radio spots for The Family Golf Challenge will air on Radio Disney as lead-in support for this event and others during the summer tour. In addition, leaderboard banner ads will run on www.RadioDisney.com, www.DisneyMusic.com and www.DisneyChannel.com and Disney’s Road Crew will be on hand during the afternoon of June 25th form 3-5PM at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course.

The Family Golf Challenge is an amateur skills competition designed to introduce more women and children to the sport of golf. With a strategic focus on providing families with a sports and leisure-time activity that brings the family together, the event also gets them involved in a charitable cause. Retail partner Golfsmith is providing a $10.00 Golfsmith Card for each team entry.

The top 3 finishers in each challenge and category (12 total) receive Family Golf Challenge medals and the 1st place teams from each local event will advance to a regional playoff in September.
