Golf resort joins Great Wall, Imperial Palace and other iconic sites
(SHENZHEN, China) — Mission Hills China — the country’s premier leisure and lifestyle brand — announces Mission Hills Shenzhen & Dongguan has been named a 5A Level Tourist Attraction by the National Tourism Administration.
The recognition fortifies the five-star resort’s reputation as China’s ultimate holiday destination. Covering an area five times larger than New York’s Central Park, it features 12 18-hole golf courses, four clubhouses, three spas, two luxury hotels, Asia’s largest tennis center, exclusive residential developments, restaurants serving global cuisine and more.
As of the end of 2010, there were 95 tourist sites in China accorded this rank. They include the Badaling section of the Great Wall, Beijing’s Imperial and Summer Palaces, Shanghai’s Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Xian’s Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum.
“We’re humbled to join other world-famous landmarks like the Great Wall and Imperial Palace as 5A level tourist attractions,” says Dr. Ken Chu, Executive Vice Chairman, Mission Hills Group. “The endorsement is a testament to many years of hard work by our staff and the vision of our chairman and founder, Dr. David Chu.”
Factors such as ease of accessibility, staff education and customer satisfaction are weighed to determine eligibility for 5A status. In addition, sites must host more than 600,000 annual tourists, at least 50,000 of which must come from overseas.
Mission Hills Shenzhen & Dongguan, located 45 minutes north of Hong Kong, is only the second location in the city to receive the designation.
Adds Chu: “Mission Hills continues to break new ground as China’s leading leisure retreat. We offer an unrivaled combination of premier golf courses, stylish accommodations and indulgent amenities.”
