(Vista, CA – June 20, 2011, 2011) Fujikura Rombax Dominates the Major Tour with a Record Breaking Win at the U.S. Open.
The winner of the 111th U.S. Open Major Championship set a record win, hitting 86% of the fairways with his Fujikura Rombax. This is the second Major Tour win using Fujikura driver shafts following this years Masters championship win using the same Rombax technology.
“It is a tremendous honor to know that Fujikura has been a part of what will go down in history as one of the best victories in golf,” said Dave Schnider, President and COO. “Winning two consecutive Major Championships with the same shaft is a true testament to the innovation and technology behind Rombax.”
Those close to the U.S. Open champion have nicknamed him “BMW” as a reference to him as the ultimate driving machine. “Having our shafts in his driver and woods and seeing him earlier last week I knew he would be in contention,” says Pat McCoy, Director of Technical Services. “But watching him play golf and win in record breaking fashion was truly amazing.”
The Fujikura Rombax has been a clear favorite on all professional Tours for years. Rombax uses a proven combination of Fujikura patented Triax Material technology and a unique braided box-weave composite throughout the length of each shaft.
The Rombax shaft line, along with our full line of shafts, is available now through Fujikura’s Charter Dealers across the United States and around the World.
Fujikura is the primary supplier to many national club brands offering both proprietary and brand product shaft designs.
