SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (June 23, 2011) – Gateway Pro Tour announced today that The Orthopedic Clinic Association (TOCA), a state-of-the-art Orthopedic Care Clinic that currently has 19 physicians and five locations in the Valley, has signed on as the latest sponsor of the Gateway Pro Tour.
TOCA’s goal is to provide the best orthopedic care in the Valley of the Sun, and has a team of physicians and staff that are dedicated to providing for each person’s needs and ensuring the highest level of care for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. TOCA currently acts as the team physicians and surgeons for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, and Arizona State University athletics.
“TOCA focuses on finding novel and inventive solutions in patient care,” said Kendra Balaz, CEO of TOCA. “The talented and experienced physicians and staff who make up our TOCA team bring expertise in orthopedics, several sub-specialties, fracture care, physical therapy and hand therapy. Each TOCA physician brings their own passion and integrity to a common purpose, honoring TOCA’s mission statement ‘serving our patients through innovative and comprehensive orthopedic care’.”
Sponsors provide an essential resource for Gateway Pro Tour. Some of the ways sponsor money allows for the continued growth, success, and recognition of Gateway Pro Tour are – Tour expansion, increased purse sizes, Nationwide and PGA TOUR exemptions, Q-School bonuses, administration, tournament equipment and materials, charity golf tournaments, community involvement and enhanced membership benefits.
“We are extremely thankful for the sponsors that support Gateway Pro Tour and are excited to have The Orthopedic Clinic Association on board as our latest addition,” said Ryan Pray, Executive Director of Gateway Pro Tour.
TOCA was founded in 1949 by Dr. William Bishop and Dr. Alvin Swenson upon returning from service in World War II, with a mission to provide the very best orthopedic care to the growing Phoenix community. At that time, specialists were typically found only in major metropolitan areas like Los Angeles and New York. But Drs. Bishop and Swenson realized that Phoenix was growing and there would be a need that they could serve well. While the Orthopedic Clinic Association has become a truly modern orthopedic practice, it remains devoted to the goals set forth by its founders – to provide the best orthopedic care in the Valley of the Sun.
