Newly Refurbished Princeville Prince Course Set to Re-Open This Fall
The extensive renovation project at the acclaimed Prince Golf Course at Princeville Resort on Kaua’i’s north shore is on target to be completed in October. The Prince Course closed in January to begin the project.
“The extensive work we’re overseeing at the Prince will restore its stature as one of the world’s best courses,” said renowned course architect Robert Trent Jones II, the original course designer. “Essentially, we’re giving the Prince the royal treatment that it deserves.”
Among other things, the Prince renovation is reclaiming fairways and tranquil streams that have been narrowed or hidden by encroaching rainforest, remodeling bunkers, and resurfacing greens and restoring them to their original shapes.
The Tavern Restaurant by Roy Yamaguchi, which opened last summer, has remained open during the project, as has the expansive Prince golf shop. In addition, the Makai Golf Club at The St. Regis Princeville Resort, which just completed an enhancement project of its own last year, is also open and available for tee times.
