TORONTO- PGA Tour rookie Matt McQuillan was decked out in Hollas apparel for his third place finish at the John Deere Classic. Jason Bohn and Bryce Molder, also members of the Hollas PGA Tour staff, also finished in the top 30.
“We are proud of Matt and know this is the first of many great finishes on Tour,” said Don Nichols, founder of Hollas and managing partner of Second Skin Garment Company. “Despite the heat – both from the temperatures and the competition – Matt rose to the occasion. And, he certainly looked good in doing so.”
McQuillan, the first Canadian in more than a decade to go through all three qualifying stages to receive his PGA Tour card, shot 64 on Sunday (also on Thursday) to drive him to the top of the leaderboard.
McQuillan actually left competitive golf for two years before returning in 2009. The Kingston, Ontario native rededicated himself to the game and finished tied for 16th place in the 2010 PGA Tour qualifying tournament. He attended Oklahoma State as a teammate of Hunter Mahan before transferring to the University of Georgia.
