ORLANDO, FL (July 15, 2011) – FlightScope®, a premier portable indoor-outdoor ball-flight and launch monitor, and the worlds first-ever 3D Doppler tracking radar for golf, is keeping a close eye on proceedings at this year’s Open Championship with its groundbreaking X Series. The company’s flagship X2, a next generation 3D club and ball tracking radar that allows you to measure and see swing, club and ball data on your smart phone or tablet with no PC required is working in conjunction with HSBC, Official Patron of The Open Championship to enhance an interactive experience, The HSBC Golf Zone, provided to all visitors to the Championship.
FlightScope’s support to HSBC will be in two key areas. The practice ground is always a favorite destination for visitors and this year they will see 4 FlightScope X2 systems located on the range connected by wireless technology to Apple Ipads. As players practice detailed performance data is delivered directly to the Ipad in real time allowing them to fine tune their games as they prepare for their rounds. Those visitors inspired and intrigued by what they see on the practice range can then try out the technology for themselves in the 2 bay FlightScope Driving Range located within the HSBC Golf Zone.
The NEW series consist of 2 new models, X1 and X2. Leading the range, and being used on the practice range, is the flagship X2 which offers exceptional versatility with an amazing battery life of 10 hours, full wireless capability allowing direct connection to a PC, smart phone or mobile device including both Apple and Android™ platforms, plus the option of a built in alignment camera and self leveling feet. Mobile applications will be available through the Apple App store and Android™ marketplace.
