ORLANDO, Fla. (July 26, 2011) – GolfNow.com, the Internet’s largest online reservations and revenue management platform, has expanded to Ireland, giving Irish course operators the same rounds- and revenue-building advantages that more than 3,100 U.S. and Canadian courses enjoy. The service, which will be accessed at GolfNow.ie, represents the first expansion of GolfNow.com beyond North America.
Since announcing its intention earlier this year to launch GolfNow.ie, a number of Dublin’s and East Ireland’s top courses have joined the platform. Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links, The K Club and The Royal Dublin Golf Club are among the highly regarded courses that have joined the GolfNow.com network.
“We’re looking forward to being part of GolfNow,” said Oliver Fagan, Golf Services Manager at The K Club. “It’s an innovative approach to the challenges all operators face. The golf business needs new ideas, and this is a good one. The more golfers who are aware of our course and what we have to offer, the better.”
Courses that partner with GolfNow.com choose the tee times they want to offer and the prices at which they offers those times. GolfNow.com promotes the tee times on its website and on the websites of hundreds of affiliated sites. Typically, GolfNow.com receives one tee time per day from each participating course that it promotes and offers to golfers. The GolfNow.com platform works as a complement to courses’ existing online tee time systems.
In addition to its online tee time reservations service, the GolfNow.com platform helps operators build a revenue management strategy so they can understand their customers’ playing patterns and maximize revenues. Website design and management services are also offered.
Public, private, resort and municipal facilities across the U.S. and Canada are part of the GolfNow.com network. In 2010 more than 1 million golfers used GolfNow.com to book nearly 5 million rounds of golf, generating $156.5 million in revenues for participating courses.
“Operators in North America recognize GolfNow as a cost-effective way to fill their tee sheets by promoting their course to golfers who might not otherwise know about them,” said Mike Loustalot, vice president, International Sales and Strategic Partnerships for GolfNow.com. “We’re confident Irish operators will enjoy the same benefits.”
Research conducted by the National Golf Foundation in the U.S. showed golfers who use GolfNow.com play more often and patronize more courses than they did before they began using the service.
Loustalot said he expects GolfNow.com will gain popularity quickly with Irish golfers. “Like the Internet, GolfNow is open 24/7, which makes it easy to find a great course that fits your schedule and budget,” he said.
