ORLANDO, FL , (July 28, 2011) – FlightScope, the world’s first ever 3D Doppler tracking radar for golf, will see its flagship model the wireless X2 be used in this year’s Ricoh Women’s British Open played on one of Scotland’s finest golf courses, Carnoustie.
After being successfully featured earlier this month at the men’s British Open and receiving rave reviews from both pros and spectators alike, FlightScope was invited back to provide the best women golfers in the world in depth , accurate analysis on how their equipment and swings will stand through the tough test that Carnoustie is sure to provide.
FlightScope will have wireless X2’s with IPads setup on the practice tee this whole week allowing pros to warm up and gauge exact distances for each club in their bags, including average, minimum and maximum distances. This allows for final adjustments to their equipment and approach before teeing off at the Carnoustie links course at the 2011 Ricoh Open. FlightScope uses its advanced 3D tracking technology to display some of the finer details in the golf swing and ball flight displaying more than 20 data parameters and with its full wireless capability some players might even take it with them while playing their practice rounds.
FlightScope® is also displayed in the Ricoh village where an interactive indoor hitting range has FlightScope® X2’s setup for spectators to enjoy and compare their swings with the tour players.
The FlightScope X series consist of 2 new models, X1 and X2. The flagship X2 will be used on the range and offers exceptional versatility with an amazing battery life of 10 hours, full wireless capability allowing direct connection to a PC, smart phone or mobile device including both Apple and Android™ platforms, plus the option of a built in alignment camera and self leveling feet. Mobile applications will be available through the Apple App store and Android™ marketplace.
