‘The Hottest Shafts In Golf’ wins wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts on PGA Tour
POWAY, Calif. – With the help of Aldila’s RIP Technology™ in his driver, the winner of the U.S. Senior Open Championship posted his first victory on the Champions Tour winning by three strokes. With the victory he earned a $500,000 check and secured a berth in the 2012 U.S. Open Championship. The win was also the first major championship of his career and gave him at least one victory on all three of the PGA Tours.
RIP golf shafts were also instrumental in helping Aldila (www.aldila.com) capture the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts on the PGA Tour for the 25th time in the past 29 weeks. “The Hottest Shafts In Golf” had 22 more wood shafts and 10 more hybrid shafts in play than their closest competitor at the Greenbrier Classic, according to the Darrell Survey.
“Reverse Interlaminar Placement Technology™ (RIP) transforms the shaft from the inside out providing players with shot control,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager. “More and more players across the Tours are switching to the RIP because it provides them with lower torque, increased tip stability and better tip stiffness control.”
The most accurate driver at the Greenbrier Classic recently switched to Aldila’s latest shaft, the RIP’d NV®, in his driver. He finished the tournament with an overall accuracy rating of 87.5 percent.
“The new RIP’d NV incorporates the best performance attributes from two of Aldila’s most innovative shaft designs,” said Bahl. “The ‘perfect feel’ and slim, stable shaft profile of the Aldila NV® and the unprecedented control and accuracy of the Aldila RIP®. The Aldila NV featuring Micro Laminate technology (MLT®) is the most popular aftermarket shaft in history. The revolutionary RIP Technology of the Aldila RIP has made it the hottest model on the PGA Tour. The RIP’d NV is not just long, it’s longer – not just straight, it’s straighter. While other shaft companies just change names and colors, Aldila technology will change your game.”
Aldila’s RIP Technology also played a key role for the longest driver at the Greenbrier Classic. He finished the tournament with an average driving distance of 331.6 yards.
