Official NGA Hooters tour event to tee off August 15-22, 2011
Pass Christian, MS – The Oaks Golf Club in Pass Christian, Mississippi is set to host tomorrow’s future tour professionals in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic, an official NGA Hooters Tour Event. The event features a host of activities throughout the week including a long drive contest, shootout and junior clinic on Tuesday August 16, along with a two shotgun Pro-Am, presented by Shular Hospitality, that benefits Make a Wish on Wednesday, August 17. The tournament itself is a 72-hole stroke play event that boasts a talented field of 165 players. After two rounds of competitive play on Thursday and Friday (August 18-19) the field will be cut to the low 65 players (and ties) for the weekend rounds. (August 20-21).
“Everyone in the region is excited to have these stellar players compete on the Gulf Coast,” said Russ Bloom, General Manager at The Oaks Golf Club. “This is truly a chance for golfers throughout the region to check out tomorrow’s future tour professionals!”
Limited spots are still available to participate in the MGCGC Pro-Am, presented by Shular Hospitality on Wednesday, August 17th. The Pro-Am features 18 holes of golf with three amateurs paired with one tour professional. 8:00am and 1:00pm Shotgun starts are available with all Pro-Am participants included in a evening Pro-Am party featuring live entertainment, food, beer and fun. Cost for the Pro-Am is $600 per three person amateur team and includes 18 holes of golf with a Hooters Tour Professional for three players, gift bag, lunch, hosted beer and refreshments during play and invitation for the player plus one guest each to the Pro-Am Party.
“The MGCGC Pro-Am, presented by Shular Hospitality offers golfers with a unique opportunity to actually play with these tour professionals,” added Bloom. “We are seeing a number of area companies and businesses register for the Pro-Am. They are using them as way to thank their clients, reward their high performing team members and more.
