(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) — Tom Hoch — a pioneer in revenue-based design and turn-key, design-build interior design solutions — has been selected as design consultant for The Amelia Island Club’s Long Point Clubhouse expansion and renovation.
As part of a design team lead by Basham and Lucas Architectural Design Group, Hoch will tap his more than 27 years of club and hospitality design experience.
Highlighting the project will be an octagon-shaped bar/lounge addition to the clubhouse building that will provide an engaging and comfortable social venue, fostering socialization and spectacular views of the golf course. The team will also renovate the Member’s Grille as well as the men’s and women’s locker rooms, improving flow between spaces and adding new finishes and furnishings.
“Long Point’s spectacular setting amidst an aboriginal live oak forest with lovely tree canopies will be great inspiration for the clubhouse interior design,” says Hoch. “The renovated clubhouse will include interior finishes reflecting these natural, organic and sustainable characteristics. Comfortable and functional furnishings along with one-of-a-kind ‘found’ objects will endow the renovated clubhouse with welcoming and livable charm and character.”
“We selected Tom Hoch because of his proven track record of bringing clubhouses to life with authentic and inspirational design,” says Tom Wages, club president. “We believe that the changes envisioned at our Long Point Clubhouse will create operational efficiencies, inspire members and boost the bottom line.”
Located north of Jacksonville, The Long Point Clubhouse at Amelia Island is one of two clubhouses available to members of The Amelia Island Club, the other being The Ocean Clubhouse. Long Point features an award winning Tom Fazio designed golf course set among natural surroundings.
Other recent U.S. and internationally-based Tom Hoch projects include: The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain (Marana, Arizona); The Members’ Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota (Florida); Farm Links Golf Club (Alabama); Renaissance Golf Club (Massachusetts); TPC Valencia (California); Zavidovo Golf and Lake Resort (Russia); and Tulsa Country Club (Oklahoma); multiple projects with Troon Golf; Apes Hill Club (Barbados); and The Abaco Club (Bahamas).

These inviting, comfortable and stunning gathering places are powerful marketing tools for owners, developers, membership directors and real-estate agents.
