SAN DIEGO, CA -The Heritage Collection of Clubs are once again joining efforts throughout 2011 in order to raise funds for select military homefront groups, as part of PGA TOUR Charities, Inc.’s Birdies for the Brave program. Funds will be raised during nine charity golf tournaments, silent auctions, and accompanying fundraising activities conducted at Heritage Golf Group’s collection of premier clubs nationwide.
The PGA TOUR, in partnership with Heritage Golf Group, TOUR players, sponsors, TPC and Heritage Golf Group club members and tournament fans, raised more than $1.3 million in 2010 for military homefront charities as a result of golf fundraising events held at TPC clubs and Heritage Golf Group properties nationwide. Since 2008, Heritage Golf Group has raised over $1.4 million for the Birdies for the Brave program.
“We are very proud to have the opportunity to support the members of our Armed Forces and their families. We are committed to supporting programs that positively impact the communities in which our clubs reside,” said Bob Husband, President and CEO of Heritage Golf Group. “On behalf of our local communities, event sponsors, product donors and club ambassadors, we are truly grateful for the sacrifices that our troops make every day to maintain our safety and freedom.”
Funds from these events will be distributed to nine military homefront groups that are supported by PGA TOUR players, including: Green Beret Foundation supported by Bubba Watson; Homes For Our Troops supported by Phil Mickelson; Military Warriors Support Foundation supported by Ted Purdy; The Navy SEAL Foundation supported by Jerry Kelly and Frank Lickliter II; New Jersey National Guard Family Readiness Council supported by Jim Colbert; Operation Homefront supported by Corey Pavin; Special Operations Warrior Foundation supported by Phil Mickelson; United Through Reading supported by Rory Sabbatini; Wounded Warrior Project supported by Frank Lickliter II, Nick Watney, Boo Weekley and Jason Gore.
