2nd event at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course rescheduled for this Sunday
New York, NY (August 16, 2011) – With the days ticking away before school resumes, an event that brings the entire family together in a fun competition is headed to Eisenhower Park Golf Course in East Meadow in Nassau County, NY this Friday August 19 (10:00AM-6:00PM) and Saturday, August 20 (11:00AM-4:00PM) when The Family Golf Challenge makes another of its summer stops on Long Island.
The Family Golf Challenge is an amateur skills competition, featuring a putting and long-drive competition, designed to introduce more women and children to the sport of golf. The Family Golf Challenge has already held events this summer at Mosholu Golf Course in the Bronx, Galloping Hill Golf Course in NJ, Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in CT and Long Island National on Long Island.
In addition to the two-day event at Eisenhower Park Golf Course, The Family Golf Challenge has also rescheduled the second event at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in CT for this Sunday, August 21. The event on August 7 was postponed due to inclement weather.
The Family Golf Challenge events at Eisenhower Park Golf Course will once again be promoted through marketing tie-ins with Radio Disney AM 1560. In addition to leaderboard banner ads on www.RadioDisney.com, www.DisneyMusic.com and www.DisneyChannel.com, Disney’s Road Crew will be on hand at Eisenhower Park Golf Course on Saturday from 2:00-4:00 PM
“We’re looking forward to an exciting two-day competition at Eisenhower Park Golf Course and then a return trip to Fairchild Wheeler Course on Sunday,” said Bill Carroll, President and CEO of The Family Golf Challenge. “We are also looking forward to once again having the Radio Disney Road crew on hand at our event. Eisenhower Park offers three of Long Island’s finest public golf courses. Originally part of the exclusive Salisbury Golf Club, the crown jewel of Eisenhower Park is the Red Course. Taken over by the county during the depression, the first park was established in 1944. During the early 1950Ì¢?å_s two additional course were added by legendary architect, Robert Trent Jones.
The Family Golf Challenge not only brings the family together but also gets them involved in a charitable cause. The First Tee of Metropolitan New York charity has been designated the Event Beneficiary and will receive $5.00 of each $15.00 registration fee.
Whether you are an avid golfer or, new to the game, the program has been designed to engage two-person teams comprised of adults and kids (7-17) in a fun, rewarding and philanthropic experience.
