‘The hottest shafts in golf’ obliterates wood shaft count by 26, also wins hybrid shaft count
POWAY, Calif. – Using Aldila’s RIP Technology in his driver, the winner of the Midwest Classic posted his first Nationwide Tour victory. He finished with a 26-under 258 (65-63-65-65), to win by five strokes. Using the RIP, he finished in the Top 10 in driving distance rounding out the tournament with a 298.3-yard average, which is 11 yards longer than the Field’s current average. His $550,000 first place check pushed him to No. 12 on the Nationwide Tour Money List. At the end of the season, the top 25 money leaders on the Nationwide Tour earn their Tour cards for the 2012 PGA Tour.
As the golf world turns its attention to the FedEx Cup Playoffs, Aldila (www.aldila.com) has a vice-like grip on the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts. At the Wyndham Championship, Aldila demolished the competition with 26 more wood shafts and six more hybrids in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer, according to the Darrell Survey. That marks the 28th time in the past 32 weeks that Aldila has won both counts on the PGA Tour. Heading into the FedEx Cup playoffs, 37 percent of the 125-man field plays Aldila shafts.
At the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship, the Most Accurate Driver played Aldila’s RIP golf shaft in his driver and switched to Aldila’s latest shaft, the RIP’d NV, in his 3 wood. He finished with an overall accuracy rating of 78.6 percent, which was well ahead of the Field’s average of 61.5 percent.
“Reverse Interlaminar Placement Technology™, or RIP, transforms the shaft from the inside out providing players with shot control,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager. “The RIP provides golfers with lower torque, increased tip stability and better tip stiffness control.”
The latest shaft in the RIP series is the RIP’d NV, which incorporates the best performance attributes from two of Aldila’s most innovative shaft designs. The ‘perfect feel’ and slim, stable shaft profile of the Aldila NV® and the unprecedented control and accuracy of the Aldila RIP®. The Aldila NV featuring Micro Laminate technology (MLT®) is the most popular aftermarket shaft in history. The revolutionary RIP Technology of the Aldila RIP has made it the hottest model on the PGA Tour.
“The RIP’d NV is not just long, it’s longer – not just straight, it’s straighter,” Bahl said. “While other shaft companies just change names and colors, Aldila technology will change your game.”
Aldila’s patented shaft design technologies provide the perfect balance of applied art and engineering. They are continuÌâåÂÌâåÂally on the leading edge of the golf world through their relentless pursuit of the next best innovation. They do the experimenting so you don’t have to. Pushing success to the edge and redefining how power should feel. Are you playing Aldila, or just graphite?
