Reflects Addition of Ivan Lendl International Junior Tennis Academy to Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy

(HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.) – Junior Golf Corporation – operator of the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy and International Junior Golf Tour – has changed its name to Junior Sports Corporation, reflecting its recent opening of the Ivan Lendl International Junior Tennis Academy on Hilton Head Island.

The name change and brand expansion parallel the company’s rapidly growing position as the industry leader in active youth lifestyles and education. The timing of the announcement coincides with student-athletes arriving on campus two weeks ago.

“Since the mid-’90s, our business has grown organically through exceptional golf instruction and leading academics,” says Peter Orrell, President and CEO of Junior Sports Corporation. “Junior Sports Corporation exemplifies our commitment to develop well-rounded, young adults with high proficiencies in several pursuits and classroom studies.”

Junior Sports Corporation opened the International Junior Golf Academy in 1995, providing a full-time program for passionate student-athletes. Soon after, the International Junior Golf Tour was created to offer a competitive arena for IJGA and other elite players worldwide to showcase their talents on PGA Tour-caliber courses.

In 2007, Hank Haney joined the IJGA and in 2008 his name was added to the organization’s brand. The Hank Haney IJGA denotes the renowned golf coach’s personal involvement with students and overall instruction programs. Currently, Hank Haney IJGA enrolls students from 25 countries and 45 U.S. states.

In May 2011, the Ivan Lendl IJTA was created to provide full-time training and academics for tennis players looking to reach their ultimate potential or the professional ranks. The academy stresses classic fundamentals, leading-edge biomechanics, competitive shot-making,strength training and fitness, and mental preparation.

Ivan Lendl IJTA and Hank Haney IJGA students attend Heritage Academy, also owned by Junior Sports Corporation, dedicated to progressive and diverse academic instruction for juniors pursuing extra-curricular passions. Classes average eight students with a maximum of 15 to promote individual attention with optional English as a Second Language, College Preparatory and Honors courses.
