Dayton, Ohio (August 22, 2011) – 2011 Solheim Cup Captain, Rosie Jones will deliver an opening address at the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation’s annual Conference and Show being held in Columbus, Ohio, December 5-8, 2011. Jones will speak to show attendees on Tuesday morning, December 6th on the Conference and Show Main Stage.
A 1981 graduate and All-American golfer at The Ohio State University, Rosie Jones has gone on to become one of the LPGA’s most popular and successful players. Jones has captured 13 LPGA tournament victories and is in the top-10 for career earnings on the women’s tour.
As a player, Rosie was a passionate leader of seven United States Solheim Cup teams, attaining an impressive record of 11-9-2 in the biennial match versus the European team. Since retiring from full-time competition in 2006, Jones has spent her time playing on the Legends Tour and as a commentator for The Golf Channel.
Jones will lead her team of the best U.S. born players at Killeen Castle in Ireland, September 23-25, 2011. The U.S. Team holds an 8-3 overall record, never losing on home soil. The Americans will look to retain the cup after a 16-12 win over the Europeans at Rich Harvest Farms in 2009.
