“Seven Days in Utopia” stirs interest in face-on putting
Rosemark Golf’s introduction of The Krutch Putter® earlier this year along with the book, Golf’s Sacred Journey and movie, Seven Days in Utopia have renewed interest in face-on putting.
Sam Snead, nicknamed “Slammin Sammy” first drew attention to the FOP method back in 1968. Since then the “Long Putter” and “Belly Putter” have been staples in many players putting games including K.J. Choi who stars in Seven Days in Utopia, Gary McCord, Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott, Bernhard Langer and Fred Couples just to name a few. Although traditional putting remains the most common style, face-on putting has regained popularity over the past few years.
The Krutch Putter®, Belly Putter and Long Putter are all suitable for face-on putting. Players that use this style of putting find that many of the errors made with traditional putting are eliminated, including The Yips.
The USGA conforming, Krutch Putter®, when used as designed, is the only putter on the market that allows for a near perfect pendulum stroke and addresses Depth Perception (The ability to see the environment in three dimensions and to estimate the spatial distances of objects from ourself and from each other) Dominate Eye Theory (The tendency to prefer visual input from one eye over the other) and Spatial Disorientation (The inability of a person to determine his true body position, motion, and altitude relative to the earth or his surroundings).
The Krutch Putter is a versatile club with a twist. It is designed to use with the player standing and facing the hole with the shaft of the club under the player’s armpit. The player then lines up the putt and pulls his arm through with a pure pendulum stroke. This club can also be used as a traditional Belly Putter or Long Putter. The Krutch is available for left and right handed players in a variety of sizes to suit the height of the player.
