Norcross, Ga. (August 29, 2011) – Mizuno, a leader in golf technology and innovation, today announced the launch of the JPX Fli-Hi, designed to replace difficult to hit traditional long irons with an easy to launch and massively forgiving hybrid DLR shaped head. The JPX Fli-Hi’s are referred to as Direct Long Iron Replacement (DLR), using the same specifications as the traditional long irons but with multiple cutting edge technologies to help golfers of all abilities hit the ball higher and launch it easier.
The JPX Fli-Hi Hybrid DLR incorporates the same distance generating technologies as the JPX-800 and JPX-800 HD irons. These include a multi-thickness ‘Hot Metal’ face and MAX COR Pocket Cavity for increased ball speeds from anywhere on the face, as well as explosive distance. In addition to these technologies, Mizuno incorporated a wood type hybrid head shape to provide a massive sweet area and a lower, deeper Center of Gravity (COG). A Speed Bevel Sole Design provides maximum club head speed through the turf. The clubs also offer an optimal face bulge and roll, delivering shot correction on miss-hits.
“The JPX Fli-Hi was designed with the long irons in mind as we strived to create an easy to launch club with incredible forgiveness,” said Dick Lyons, VP and General Manager, Mizuno USA, Inc. “We’ve targeted a specific category of players with the JPX series and believe the JPX Fli-Hi collection will be an ideal replacement for traditional long irons which are often more challenging to hit.”
In addition, the JPX Fli-Hi line offers Interchangeable Shaft System (ISS) which allows players to test and confirm their specific shaft through Mizuno’s innovative Performance Fitting System (PFS), featuring the Shaft Optimizer technology. Exclusive to Mizuno, the Shaft Optimizer takes the guess work out of finding the proper shaft during the fitting experience, thus enhancing Mizuno’s reputation as being the premier fitter in the golf industry. These JPX Fli-Hi hybrid DLRs can be seamlessly integrated into any one of Mizuno’s JPX iron sets.
