Inaugural Championship Offers Competitive Play, Exclusive Event Access and More

ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 22, 2011) – Golfweek announced today that registration is now open for the inaugural Golfweek Stableford National Championship, which will be played Jan. 28-31 across three Orlando-area courses – The Legends at Orange Lake Resort, Ridgewood Lakes Golf Club and ChampionsGate Golf Club (International Course).

The newest addition to Golfweek’s extensive events lineup, the Golfweek Stableford National Championship gives golfers the opportunity to play three competitive rounds for a $15,000 purse (based on a full field), while also participating in a skills challenge and enjoying social events. In addition, players will gain access to the exclusive industry-only PGA Merchandise Show through a guided tour.

“We are thrilled to be working with the PGA Merchandise Show to offer golfers a truly unique golf experience,” said Armand Cimaroli, Golfweek’s director of events. “By coupling the stableford format – which encourages fast play and handicap integrity – with exclusive access to the world’s largest golf industry event, the Golfweek Stableford National Championship has the ability to grow into one of the most popular events on the Golfweek calendar.”

Open to golfers of all ages and abilities, registration for the 2012 Golfweek Stableford National Championship is $495. Visit www.GolfweekEvents.com for complete tournament details and registration.
