Weaver Joins Pinnacle Golf Properties as a Managing Partner
CHARLOTTE, NC (September 2011) – Charlotte-based Pinnacle Golf Properties (PGP) Managing Partners David Taylor and Kim Worrel announce that Weaver Investment Company of Greensboro, NC, has invested to become a Managing Partner in the golf management firm. Through this new partnership, Pinnacle Golf Properties will look to expand its portfolio by 10-12 courses in the next few years through acquisitions and contract management services.
Worrel, Managing Partner and co-founder of PGP, couldn’t be more excited. “Blending our companies together allows us to literally play in a space we could never think of on our own. We now have the ability to look at every possible property type whether it is golf as a standalone entity, or golf and hotel, or golf and development.
“I could not think of a better partner or a better positioning of our company. Weaver stands for everything that is right in business and combining our expertise and resources gives us significant advantages within the golf industry. This is a great opportunity for PGP.”
“Our projection is that the next 24 months will present extraordinary opportunities for golf course acquisitions and management partnerships that will provide healthy long-term rewards,” says Taylor, Managing Partner and co-founder of PGP. “Having a partner like Weaver Investment Company only enhances these opportunities. We are thrilled to associate ourselves with a group that is committed so strongly to excellence.”
“We are extremely excited to have PGP join our family of operating companies,” says Lee McAllister, President and CEO of Weaver Investment Company. “We have been working closely with PGP for the past six years as they managed and operated our Stoney Creek Golf Club just outside Greensboro. Their capacity to professionally operate golf courses coupled with the current opportunities in the golf industry make our partnership with PGP very exciting. Their business philosophy and standard of excellence are a perfect fit for our company. We look forward to a prosperous future together.”
