North Stonington, Conn., Oct. 5, 2011 – Lake of Isles announced today that its high profiled golf academy will operate under the umbrella of the Troon Golf Academy. By becoming a Troon Golf Academy it will be able to utilize the strong marketing and branding efforts of Troon Golf to promote the academy, its instructional programs and its award-winning instructors.

Troon Golf Academy/Lake of Isles is a 60,000-square foot year-round teaching and practice facility. It features a large grass tee area and separate chipping, putting, and bunker practice areas. The indoor practice facility includes four heated teaching bays, videotaped swing analysis, a fitness studio and classroom. The Golf Academy offers private and group instruction year-round for golfers of all ages and ability levels.
Troon Golf Academy/Lake of Isles’ instruction staff is led by Derek Hooper, a 15-year teaching veteran, specializes in long term player development and 3D swing analysis. He is the only PGA instructor in the northeast certified in the use of the Golf BioDynamics 3D swing analysis system. Senior Instructor, Sue Cart, has been teaching golf for more than 19 years and is a former “Teacher of the Year” in the Southern California Chapter, PGA. She enjoys teaching golfers of all ability levels and has a special passion for getting women interested in the game. Lake of Isles conducts two Ladies Golf Weekends annually.
