(Granbury, TX: October 18, 2011) HIRZL announced today that their line of high performance golf gloves has been chosen for the second straight year as the official golf glove of the 2011 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods.
“We are very pleased and excited to have HIRZL return as our official golf glove for this year’s event,” said Art Sellinger, chief executive officer of Long Drivers of America, owners of the Championship. “At last year’s RE/MAX World Championship Finals, HIRZL was a huge hit with the players and I expect many more players to be wearing HIRZL gloves at this year’s Championship,” added Sellinger. “With the contestants generating swing speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour, having a properly fit glove that can withstand extreme wear and tear and provide superior grip is paramount to success,”
HIRZL will custom fit the competitors from 15 countries for size and style. The event is taking place from October 26- November 4 in Mesquite, Nevada with the finals shown live on November 4th on ESPN3 at 1 P.M. PST. HIRZL is also the official glove of the Aldila Long Drive Team and members of the team will be in Mesquite for the competition.
“We are thrilled to once again be associated with this outstanding event,” said Gary Sheppard, President and CEO of HIRZL North America. “The long drive hitters are known to exert tremendous pressure on the golf club and the glove is the only equipment that connects their hands to the club,” added Sheppard. “Our unique GRIPPP™ technology helps these players have confidence in their glove to be able to perform at their highest level.”
HIRZL is a global pioneer in high performance sports gloves where innovation and precision engineering is at the heart of the HIRZL philosophy and is supported by a focus on design excellence and top quality production.

About the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship, powered by Dick’s Sporting Goods
The RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship powered by Dicks Sporting Goods evolved out of the National Long Drive Championship, which began in 1975. It has grown from a mostly low-key event to one that includes golfers from virtually every corner of the world. Competitors come from around the world to vie for a purse worth nearly $500,000. 2011 marks the seventeenth year that RE/MAX has sponsored the event. In the early years, drives of 325 yards gave hitters a chance at finishing “in the money”. Today – hitters typically need to drive the ball at least 350 to 360 yards to advance to the qualifying rounds….and 400 yards has become common. Each year an excess of 10,000 competitors attempt to qualify for the RE/MAX Finals. These qualification events occur at approximately 300+ sites around the globe.
