HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – October 17, 2011 – Cleveland® Golf/Srixon® congratulates staffer Jason Kokrak for his victory at the Nationwide Tour’s 2011 Miccosukee Championship over the weekend. Kokrak, a Nationwide Tour rookie who earned his first career win at last month’s Albertsons Boise Open, has now sealed his PGA TOUR card for 2012.
Kokrak led the tournament nearly wire-to-wire to become the Tour’s fourth two-time winner this season. His 20-under-par 264 total broke the tournament record by four strokes, while his seven-stroke margin of victory matched the fifth-best winning margin in Tour history. Kokrak took home a $108,000 winner’s check and vaulted 11 spots to No. 4 on the money list with $301,592.
“This is beyond my imagination. I don’t know if it will hit me for a while,” said Kokrak, a 26-year-old Ohio resident. “I would never have dreamt this. At the beginning of the year, you set goals that you want to meet and then you set some that maybe are a little out of reach. I’ve already exceeded all the goals that I set for myself this year.”
Kokrak played a Cleveland® Launcher® Ultralite SL290 driver (9°- Miyazaki™ Kusala Black 83X), a Cleveland® Launcher® Ultralite FL fairway wood (14°- Miyazaki™ Kusala Black 83X), Cleveland® CG16™ Tour irons (3-PW), 588™ Forged wedges (52°/ 56°/ 60°) and a Srixon® Z-STAR™ XV ball, while wearing a Srixon® glove and carrying a Cleveland® Golf bag. He currently leads the Nationwide Tour in driving distance with an average of 320.6 yards.
This marks the ninth victory on the 2011 Nationwide Tour for Cleveland® Golf/Srixon®, which currently boasts seven of the top 25 players on the money list – more than any other club manufacturer.
