(ALBERTA, CANADA) – Two member properties of the Canadian Rockies Golf Consortia (http://www.canadianrockiesgolf.ca) have scored high marks in Golf Digest’s Top 75 Golf Resorts biennial list, which appears in the November 2011 edition, currently on news stands.
The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge entered the leading golf publication’s list for the first time, garnering the 27th spot in North America. The Fairmont Banff Springs returned to the list from the 2009 rankings, claiming the 24th spot among all U.S. and Canadian golf properties.
“We’re obviously thrilled that American golfers know we deliver an exceptional golf vacation experience,” said Alan Carter, director of golf at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. “Golfing in a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a National Park always offers an unforgettable round, and word continues to spread that the Canadian Rockies is a must-see destination.”
The award is the latest top golf-and-travel-industry honors received by Canadian Rockies Golf, a collection of seven golf courses and resorts in Alberta’s western region – the most storied and recognized group of golf courses in Canada.
They consist of the two Fairmont properties in Banff and Jasper, Kananaskis Country Golf Course’s Mt.Kidd and Mt. Lorette layouts, and three courses in Canmore – Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club, Silvertip Resort and Canmore Golf & Curling Club. Together, the group offers golf-and-adventure packages to the leading destination through http://www.canadianrockiesgolf.ca.
