VedbÆk, Denmark, October 24, 2011 – Sir Nick Faldo, one of golf’s all-time great technicians and tournament players, and today becoming equally celebrated for his accomplishments off the golf course, has teamed with TrackMan to improve the programs offered worldwide by his Faldo Academies and Faldo Series events.
The partnership begins with TrackMan Pro being installed at Faldo’s first golf academy, the Faldo Golf Institute by Marriott in Orlando, Florida. Following the installation in Orlando, the same TrackMan technology complement will be installed at other Faldo Academies worldwide.
TrackMan Pro, featuring TrackMan Peformance Studio software, will be used by the professional staff for video and numerical swing analysis for all individual golf lessons and golf schools. The professional staff will also implement the TrackMan Combine for student skill assessments and benchmarking. Faldo’s club-fitting staff will use TrackMan Pro to deliver world class club-fitting results.
TrackMan will provide comprehensive training for Faldo and the entire professional staff on TrackMan knowledge and technology, including instruction, fitting, and skill-assessment best practices.
The Faldo Series, a developmental tournament series for boys and girls aged 12 to 21 and running in 25 countries worldwide, will also implement the TrackMan Combine during its top two events – Europe Grand Final and Asia Grand Final. As only the season’s leading players qualify for the Grand Final events, Faldo is keen to benchmark the entire qualifying fields of these highly ranked players. He will use the data collected to establish developmental standards for other high potential juniors.
When asked why TrackMan, Faldo commented, “My Faldo Series and Faldo Academies have special importance to me. I am always looking for ways to improve how we develop golfers of all abilities. Parallel to that, I come across TrackMan so many times in my broadcasting life, at my equipment sponsor we use it all the time, and at so many of the fine clubs I visit they are using it with great results. Now I’m diving in to learn all I can about TrackMan’s technology and unique knowledge and my experience with their team has been great. The player development benefits of TrackMan are widespread and undeniable. It makes me wonder how much more I would have accomplished if I had a TrackMan during my playing career.”
TrackMan CEO Dr. Klaus Eldrup Jorgensen stated, “We’re pleased that Nick Faldo recognizes TrackMan’s ability to benchmark and develop players of all abilities. He wants to be known for his expertise in developing players and for his knowledge about golf swing and skill. It’s amazing how important this is to him, as well how much he really does know about zeroing club path, optimizing driver distance, benchmarking, and more. It’s great to have someone like Nick pushing us, pushing the industry… We’re pleased by the opportunity to support him!”
